The Professional Construction Department at SMB College Group’s Stephenson Campus in Coalville invests in £80,000-worth of high-tech equipment for learners!
Recently, the SMB College Group invested in £80,000-worth of high-tech Trimble equipment, supplied by KOREC Group, to enhance its learners experience on campus. The new equipment includes: Trimble X7 3D Scanner, Trimble C5 Mechanical Total Station, Trimble S5 Robotic Total Station, XR10 Headset and an MT1000 Active Target!
The SMB College Group’s Higher Technical Institute is a leader in Construction T Level and Higher Education training, which prepares its learners for work in professional construction industries such as Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Project Management, and Architecture, to name a few.
Students studying at the college’s Stephenson Campus in Coalville, Leicestershire, learn a variety of skills and techniques, personal qualities, and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.
Tom Robinson, Section Manager for Construction, said, “The purchasing of our brand-new state-of-the-art 3D laser scanner, augmented reality headset and robotic total station from the renowned supplier, Trimble, will enable our students to gain skills in high demand.
“This equipment is at the forefront of the Construction Industry and will enable our students to progress to high paid employment, providing them with the digital construction skills required now and in the future.”
Drew Bennett and Rob Judge of KOREC Group explained to students studying at the college’s Higher Technical Institute how the equipment is used, and gave them a demonstration on the impressive kit!
