Tonight, SMB College Group Tigers Programme alumni, Tim Hoyt and Lewis Chessum are competing for England U20s in their Six Nations match against France!
England face arguably their toughest challenge yet in their quest for the Grand Slam, at this season’s Six Nations, as they take on France at the Recreation Ground.
Bonus point victories in each of their opening three matches against Scotland, Italy and Wales have taken England to the top of the Championship table, one point ahead of Ireland, who are also chasing the Grand Slam.
England U20s head coach, Alan Dickens, has made two changes to the England team that defeated Wales 37-21 in the previous round. Tim Hoyt and Lewis Chessum will be in the starting team with Lewis captaining the side.
Lewis Chessum studied Level 3 Agriculture at SMB College Group, alongside the Tigers programme. About his experience studying at the College, Lewis said “being at Brooksby Campus helped me develop many parts of my game on and off the field. It made me a better player and overall person, I met life long mates and made many memories and experiences by doing Agriculture as a course instead of just sport.”
Tim Hoyt said “I feel like I gained a lot more knowledge of the game and improved my skills in the technical and tactical units. I was given really good support around my rugby and my college work, where reflective practice was encouraged.”
Kick-off is 8pm on Friday 10th March at the Recreation Ground and the match can be viewed live on BBC iPlayer.
