Gemma achieved a Distinction in Sport at SMB College Group and has since gone on to become a gold medallist at the European Cross-Country Championships, and more recently, a bronze medallist at the Cardiff Commonwealth Half Marathon.
When speaking about her achievements in the Cardiff Commonwealth Half Marathon, she said 'It was a great opportunity for me - Being a member of the England Team. I was very proud as I was going through a hard time with anxiety. I wasn't going to run, but I pulled myself together and got bronze. It's not about the colour of my medal, it's about not giving up and working as a team.'
Gemma had hoped to go to University following achieving her Distinction in Sports at our Stephenson Campus in 2008, but she started winning races locally with Whitwick Running Club, so set her sights on running for England and becoming a professional athlete, which she did by 2010!
