This course reinforces everything I do at work and provides a different outlook on the work I carry out.
I get to look in detail at all the different species of weeds and pests I come upon as a Sports Turf Apprentice. I have always been interested in it since I was younger, so it was an easy decision for me to study this.
It may not look like the most interesting of subjects – but it is such a rewarding and satisfying job to work and study in. I like that you will never stop learning in this role. Colleagues of mine have been in the grounds industry for 30+ years and are still always learning! I won’t lie it is hard work, with the wet and cold weather in winter, flooded pitches, etc. but then in spring and summer it makes it all worthwhile when the ground is looking its absolute best.
I would recommend studying this course!
