Farm and Plant Machinery Engineering

Do you love engines but are looking to study a course where you get to work on something bigger? Something a little different? Like, tractors or plant machinery? Studying one of our Farm and Plant Machinery courses will give you the knowledge and experience to work in this increasingly important sector.

As the world’s population grows, so does the need for food, housing, and transport, which means an increase in the demand for plant machinery and agricultural engineers.

Students that study with us learn to service and repair agricultural and plant vehicles with the use of our tractors and a wide range of farming machinery. The courses are based at our 850-acre Brooksby Campus, which has its own working arable and livestock farm.

OFSTED have previously commented that our engineering workshops and facilities were “the best they’d ever seen” - and they have seen a lot!

The engineering workshops at SMB College Group reflect the industry environment, so you know you are learning in similar facilities to those out in the industry. We also have strong links with key players in the Land-based Engineering sector, meaning that our students leave us work ready and often go straight into an apprenticeship or employment.
