This qualification enables learners to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for working in a supervised role with adults in Health and Social Care settings. The course will cover a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

All learners are required to apply for a DBS as a part of their work experience requirements for this course. This costs approximately £50.

  • What will I learn?

    You will study a range of modules, including

    • Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health and Social Care
    • Human Growth and Development
    • Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care
    • Creative activities in Health and Social Care
    • Health and Wellbeing
    • Work Experience

    You will also study Maths and English if you have not already achieved these at Grade 4.

  • How will I be assessed?
    All units are assessed through projects or coursework which includes developing posters, leaflets, presentations and written work, such as assignments. There are also two written exams.
  • Where could this course lead to?
    Following successful completion of this course and achievement of Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, you could progress onto a Level 3 Health and Social Care course.
  • What qualifications or experience do I need?
    4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 including Maths and English.
