The SMB College Group is a highly successful FE college, formed of two merged and reputable colleges – Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the automotive and engineering provision at the Stephenson Campus for a Technical Training Assistant and Area Co-ordinator, within the Motor Vehicle Department. The role will expect you to lead by example in carrying out workshop duties efficiently, demonstrating high levels of health and safety is implemented and sustained ensuring a safe place of work whilst supporting staff and students during the delivery of practical sessions. Support for staff and students is critically important for excellent teaching and learning to take place, ensuring we are in control of the repairs and the maintenance requirements of our resources to support teaching and learning also pivotal to the role. 

You may currently be working in an engineering setting looking for a change in career and have a desire to share your knowledge with the next generation of engineering students.  You will have a passion for the sector and have practical experience of operating within a workshop environment or running a workshop facility.

You will have an aptitude for accuracy, be able to maintain our superb workshop facilities and contribute to the continued improvement of the automotive and engineering programmes to achieve the best outcomes for students and stakeholders.

We hope to add value to our team during this process taking on a person with a passion to share their motor vehicle knowledge and experience with others, who have worked in the service and repair sector throughout their careers and who would like to support the SMB Groups engineering provision.
