BMC alumni, Norton James and Joshua Lloyd, have recently been performing in ‘The Choir of Man’ at the iconic Sydney Opera House. The play, which runs from Wednesday 20th March – Sunday 7th April 2019, centres on English pub life and features an array of pop, choral, opera, and Broadway tunes, including songs from Adele, Queen, Guns’n’Roses and more. Norton and Joshua both studied Level 3 Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) at BMC from 2008-10, with Norton completing his HNC in Performing Arts in 2011. Cat Webb, Performing Arts Lecturer at BMC, said ‘We are so proud of Chris and Josh! As students at BMC they were always very hard working. Their hard work has clearly paid off, and we couldn’t be more excited for them touring and performing in some of the biggest and most iconic venues in the world!’ After graduating from BMC, Norton James trained at Performance Preparation Academy in Guildford before embarking on a varied and successful career in the performing arts industry, with notable credits including Sir Galahad in Monty Python’s Spamalot and Ellwood in Blues Brothers (Italian Tour). He also appeared as Chris Pratt’s body double in Guardians of the Galaxy. Performing Arts students at BMC benefit from learning in the very best performance and rehearsal spaces, including a 340 seat on-site commercial theatre, a 60 seat studio theatre space, mirrored rehearsal studios with sprung floors and one of the largest infinity green screens outside of London.
