SMB College Group alumnus, Simeon Dyer, features in Willow, the new high fantasy series on Disney+ produced by Lucasfilm that premiered in November 2022.

Willow serves as a sequel to the 1988 film of the same name, about an unlikely group of six heroes, setting off on a quest to save their world. Willow stars Warwick Davis as titular character, Willow Ufgood, and Simeon plays Karthy, Willow’s Nelwyn apprentice.

Simeon studied his Level 3 Extended Diploma in Acting and went on to study BA (Hons) Performing Arts at SMB College Group. He successfully graduated with his degree in 2017 – the same year that the College welcomed another famous Acting alumnus, Adrian Scarborough, to deliver their Graduation Commencement Address.

Since graduating, Simeon has forged a successful career within the Performing Arts industry, playing Lucas Corto opposite Henry Cavill in Netlfix’s The Witcher and appearing in Snow White at the London Palladium alongside Dawn French, among other notable performances.

Outside of acting, Simeon does important work for dwarfism awareness and is a Chairperson on the committee for Little People UK. He has attended numerous Little People conferences, including the Little People of America annual conference, representing LPUK. While on the set of Willow, Simeon was the LP consultant, ensuring that all Little People were looked after and well represented during production. When speaking of his work for Little People UK, Simeon said “The charity has helped me in so many different ways, from finding out more about my condition to making lifelong friends.”. He continues to spread awareness for dwarfism on all his platforms.

SMB College Group expresses its pride in having Simeon Dyer as one of their prestigious alumni. Arnie Breen, Theatre Manager at SMB College Group’s Melton Theatre, who taught Simeon Dyer, said “Simeon was a great student, very hard working with a great work ethic. He did an awful lot himself to launch his acting career and managed to get Warwick Davis to come to his final degree show, which started off a beautiful relationship, as Warwick is now his agent. Simeon has been working regularly up and down the country in pantomimes, he also had a role in Netflix’s “The Witcher” and now with this role in “Willow” we couldn’t be more proud.”

With 8 episodes currently out and more being released weekly, Willow is available to stream now on Disney+.
