Linde Material Handling are working with SMB College Group to offer Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeships!
The College and Linde MH have been working together since August 2023 to offer a bespoke training programme for the next generation of Forklift Truck Engineering Technicians.
The programme has been designed to ensure apprentices are prepped for the forklift industry and to meet employer standards and methods. Run by industry expert staff, training meets the requirements of individual companies with new equipment and technology provided by Linde MH.
There are high expectations on both staff and apprentices within the programme. Under 100 apprentices have undergone an apprenticeship with Linde MH through SMB College Group and so far, 17 apprentices have reached the Apprenticeship End Point Assessment, with 68% achieving a distinction.
Paul Dancer, Director of Commercial Curriculum at the College, said “Having previously worked in the sector and understanding what’s out there in the material handling sector on a maintenance basis, I am really excited to have the opportunity to work with Linde MH on this project and for the College to make a big difference for the sector which is essential for the UK economy”

Millie Marpole, Forklift Apprentice at Linde, said “I wanted to do Forklift Training because I wanted to do something with my hands, I’ve never been strong when it comes to computers or technology. The advice I would give to new apprentices is to make sure you focus and work hard, if you don’t know something just ask and someone can always help you.”
