During the recent National Inclusion Week, SMB College Group successfully launched their brand new WILL initiative – aiming to further promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across all three college campuses.
The College, which has three campuses in Leicestershire (Stephenson, Melton and Brooksby), used the recent ‘National Inclusion Week’ to solidify their commitment to EDI, pledging to:
Work to celebrate, advocate, and inspire Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across operations, people, students and stakeholders.
Implement, monitor and track EDI and its impact in all aspects of the business, being responsive where required
Listen to ensure all students and employees have, and are provided with a voice to influence, engage and participate.
Lead to ensure equal opportunities are embedded into college policies and practice
As a part of the college’s National Inclusion Week celebrations, students and staff also provided feedback on what Equality, Diversion and Inclusion means to them.
Caroline Hood, Business Development and Apprenticeship Sales Advisor at the college, said ‘To me, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion means that Everyone, regardless of race, religion, disability, faith, ethnicity or gender should all be treated equally and in a respectful manner.’
Dylan, student at the college’s Stephenson Campus, said ‘Equality, Diversion and Inclusion means that you should treat everyone how you would like to be treated.’
Meg Morby, Marketing Manager at the college, added ‘The College having a clear stance on Equality, Diversion and Inclusion and fostering a welcoming environment means that I can come in to work every day feeling safe and knowing that my colleagues are as committed to inclusivity as I am.’
