This month SMB College Group attended and sponsored the Love Business Expo - and it was a huge success, exceeding expectations with a record number of visitors!

SMB College Group sponsored the VIP Lounge and MINDSET Sports Village on the day, with the aim of showcasing how the elite sporting mindset can be adopted in business practices to achieve top results.

The MINDSET Sports Village was run by SMB College Group’s Sports Science degree students, alongside Olympic Athlete Joel Fearon who collaborated with the College at the Expo. Through all of the activities on offer, delegates were thoroughly challenged and had fun testing their sporting ability and, most importantly, their mindset, ambition and resilience.

Dawn Whitemore, SMB College Group’s Principal and CEO, was in attendance on the day to promote the fantastic work that the college does with local and national businesses, and to forge new relationships with employers. Dawn said ‘What a fantastic event the Love Business Expo is to be a part of. We have supported the event for the past two years and we intend to continue working with the Love Business team going forward.’

‘At SMB College Group, we understand that every business’ training needs and skills gaps are unique, which means that we’re able to work collaboratively on a one-to-one basis to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that genuinely add value to the businesses that we work alongside. We are fortunate to have a well-established relationship with Leicester Tigers, and we are proud to have attended Love Business 2023 with our MINDSET Sports village.’

The MINDSET Sports Village featured three sporting activities for delegates to put themselves to the test: ‘Timed speed traps’, measuring acceleration and top speed, ‘Reaction Blazepods’, testing reaction speed, and ‘Optojump’, measuring jump height from a standing position. Leicester Tigers also provided a giant inflatable rugby dart board to add to the fun!

Leicester Tigers, who are the current premiership Rugby Champions and a valued partner of SMB College Group, also showcased their Gallagher Premiership trophy at the event, with Tigers Academy Fly Half and SMB Alumnus, Morgan Meredith, attending to promote the fantastic partnership that the Club has built with SMB College Group over the past several years.
