The Student Services team at SMB College Group, has been officially awarded ‘Team of The Year’ at this year’s Best of Melton Awards!
On Friday 7th October, SMB College Group’s Student Services Team was delighted to receive the ‘Team of the Year’ prize at the Best of Melton Awards.
The winning award for this category was awarded to ‘Phil Smith and Student Services’, with the team having been short-listed earlier on this month after nomination by Brooksby Campus Student Services Team Lead, Kerry Costello.
SMB College Group were sponsors of this year’s Best of Melton Awards, which they proudly hosted at Brooksby Hall, a grade two listed 16th Century manor house nestled in the grounds of their 850-acre Brooksby Campus.
Kerry Costello stated ‘I nominated the team because we provide fantastic advice and guidance through our Admissions, Bursary and Transport services. We recognise the importance of having an approachable and helpful reception desk and Welfare Team available throughout the college day, and we take pride in the holistic wrap around support we offer to our students.’
Phil Smith, Head of Student Services and Student Experience added ‘My name being on the award is very nice, but winning this award is down to every single member of the Student Services team at all three of our campuses – Stephenson, Melton and Brooksby. With the nominations in the category being so strong, it is a very proud moment for our department.
‘It is a great feeling that all the hard work of the Student Services Team has been recognised in such an amazing way, and we will continue to do everything we can to support our amazing students!’
Principal and Chief Executive of SMB College Group, Dawn Whitemore, was also in attendance to present the SMB College Group sponsored ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award to Morgan Tilly Burgoyne from The Melton Clinic.
SMB College Group is a Further Education College in Leicestershire with three campuses across the region: Stephenson Campus, Melton Campus and Brooksby Campus. The College offers a wide variety of courses, ranging from Level 1 all the way to University Degree level.
