The SMB Group are delighted to be working with Willmott Dixon to provide a series of training sessions for Construction students at their Stephenson Campus.
The College have enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the renowned building firm, with the company having previously visited the Stephenson Campus to talk to students about Mental Health in Construction, and Health & Safety. During lockdown, Willmott Dixon devised an online training session on Internet Safety specifically for students studying Construction, and approached the College to provide feedback.
Following a successful trial, the Internet Safety Training is now being rolled out across the Midlands, and the College continues to collaborate with Wilmott Dixon to develop and produce other training sessions for students.
Tom Robinson, Curriculum Manager for Construction at the Stephenson Campus said, ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Willmott Dixon on this new training programme. The first sessions on Internet Safety Training have been well received by the students and we are looking forward to working together on the next training programmes.’
Zoe Anastasi, Community Manager at Willmott Dixon, said ‘As with all the communities in which we work, we aim to leave a lasting legacy. Our team has been working in partnership with the College to support their employment and skills plan, with a key focus on developing new and exciting ways to engage students remotely. We have run a variety of initiatives including mock interviews, CV advice, careers guidance, curriculum support and virtual workshops to over 100 of their current construction students. Through this collaboration we have been able to further develop our virtual workshop offering that we now look forward to rolling out across our network of schools, colleges and youth organisations in the Midlands.’
