As part of your study programme introduction, you will be enrolled onto our system to become a fully-fledged SMB student! Inevitably there is a little bit of paperwork to do but don't worry! The process is straight forward and college staff will be on-hand to support you.
For all students who have applied and accepted their place to come and study with us this September, you will find all the information you need for your enrolment below:
What to bring with you:
- Valid Identification - Passport, Driving License or Birth Certificate
- Residency Information - (Only applicable if you are a non-UK applicant)
- Your qualification certificates - ALL GCSE exam results (and any other relevant qualifications)
Enrolment Dates: (May be subject to change)
- Stephenson Campus: Friday 23rd - Wednesday 28th August
- Melton Campus (Performing Arts): Friday 30th August
- Brooksby Campus: Thursday 22nd - Thursday 29th August
If you have received an offer to study with us, you should have recently received an email informing you of your allocated date and time for you to come and enrol onto your course area. Enrolment will be taking place within our Learning Resources Centres located at each of our Campuses.
(Please note: Each course area will have a different date and time for students to come in and enrol.)
What happens if I don't get the Grades?
If you achieve the entry grades for your course - that's great! You don't need to contact us on Results Day to tell us. Simply visit us for your scheduled enrolment session and we'll get you enrolled.
If you don't achieve the required grades for your course - please don't worry! We will do our best to find you a different course at a suitable level. Get in touch and our friendly team will be happy to help! Alternatively, you can bring your grades in with you to your scheduled Enrolment slot, where you'll benefit from information, advice and guidance from our academic teams. It is likely that we will be able to offer an alternative course that's suited to your grades.

What if I can’t make the time and date in my induction and enrolment invite?
If you are unable to attend at the specified time, please use the links below to book an alternative time on either Monday 2nd September or Tuesday 3rd September.

What if I don’t achieve the entry requirements for the course I applied to?
Try not to worry, if you can. You can still attend college at your allotted enrolment slot. College staff are experienced in ensuring that students are enrolled on the right course and each application will be reviewed on an individual basis to ensure you are on an appropriate level course and/or have all the support you need to achieve your goals!

I've applied to study at SMB, but I’m not sure if I've picked the course that’s right for me. What should I do?
If you need any help at all, or even if your exam results were not what you expected, get in touch! Our experienced, friendly staff members are here to help. What if I forget my paperwork on the first day?
To enrol you as a student, colleges must have copies of the documents stated in your enrolment invite. You will still be able to take part in other induction-related activities at your enrolment session, but your offical place will be “pending” until we have seen the relevant documents. Just don’t forget to bring them the next time you are on campus after enrolment.

I’ve changed my mind about the course I want to study. Can I change?
Of course you can. You also don’t need to complete a new application form! Contact our admissions team on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as soon as possible and they will arrange for you to be interviewed for your new course as soon as possible.

What if I enrol onto a course and then change my mind?
That’s no problem either. just speak to your course leader or your progress tutor and a transfer to another course can be arranged (subject to space and meeting entry requirements). If you need some help deciding, our Careers and Student Services teams will be available to assist where they can.

If I'm worried about the first day is there someone I can talk to for help?
Yes. Our Student Services team, Progress Tutors and your course Lecturers will all be on hand to help you settle in!
