Six green apprenticeships have been picked to mark the Coronation in recognition of their sustainability credentials, including the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Countryside and Environmental Conservation, currently offered at SMB College Group!
If you have a passion for the environment, the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Countryside and Environmental Conservation is the perfect way to earn while you learn and give back to the community.
SMB College Group’s Land-based Apprenticeship Manager, Carla Tewley said ‘We are so excited to announce the launch of the Level 2 Countryside worker Apprenticeship!
A job role for outdoor, practical people who care about our natural environment and rural outdoor spaces. The countryside worker will carry out specific environmental and conservation tasks which include improving habitats, maintaining boundaries and Land management.
This year, to celebrate the Coronation and to reflect the Kings commitment to sustainability, The Countryside worker apprenticeship has been selected as a Green apprenticeship because of its contribution to a low carbon economy and will also help to build a workforce that is skilled in fighting against climate change.’
Countryside and Environmental Conservation workers conserve the environment that makes the English countryside both distinctive and special. They take care of our protected landscapes - National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, National Nature Reserves as well as private landed estates, country and urban parks.
After studying the course, you could go into roles such as Estate Worker, Access Ranger, Maintenance Ranger, Site Warden, Assistant Ranger, Field Operative, Volunteer Leader, and more.
The course is taught at SMB College Group’s Brooksby Campus, a specialised land-based campus spread over 850 acres in the heart of Leicestershire.
SMB College Group recently won the Nachural Entrepreneurship Award for Promoting Apprenticeships! Recognising the excellent work that the college has undertaken in working with local and national businesses to offer apprenticeships, and train and up-skill their employees - building sustainable, ambitious workforces that are well-equipped for the future.
