Year 1 Modules include: Professional Working Responsibilities; Plant and Soil Science; Work Experience; Countryside Estate Skills; Managing Environmental Habitats; Planting and Care of Trees; Freshwater and Wetland Management. Year 2 Modules include: Contemporary Issues; Woodland Management; Wildlife conservation and Management; Countryside Recreation; Managing Countryside Visitor Activities; Applied Ecology; Ecological Concepts; Physical Biological Environmental Processes

Where could this course lead to?
Our students have gone on to work in a range of careers in the great outdoors, such as becoming an Ecological Surveyor, Conservation Worker, Fisheries Officer, Woodland Manager, Environmental Scientist, Environmental Consultant and more! Our Level 3 (2 year) courses allow students to progress on to University to study subjects such as ecology, wildlife conservation, countryside management or environmental management. SMB College Group also offers a Foundation Degree course in Applied Environmental Land Management.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English, or Level 2 Countryside Management (or similar) and Level 1 Functional Skills. If you miss the English and/or Maths requirements of your course, don?t worry ? there are options to study these alongside your course.
