If you're interested in practical land management, habitat conservation and ecology, a Countryside Management course is perfect for you! The Brooksby Campus is perfect for studying a course in Countryside Management as we're able to provide a practical focus, combining theory with hands-on experience on a wide range of sites, including our 850 acre Brooksby Estate.

  • What will I learn?

    • Introduction to Working in Land-based Industries
    • Introduction to Plant and Soil Science
    • Countryside Work Placement
    • Habitat Maintenance
    • Countryside Estate Maintenance
    • Land Based Machinery Operations
    • Introduction to Game Management
  • Where could this course lead to?
    Students who successfully complete this course have the option to progress on to our Level 3 Countryside Estate Management or Level 3 Environmental Management courses. Alternatively, you may wish to undertake a Forestry Operative or Aboriculture Apprenticehsip, or go straigh into employment. Career paths inlcude: Estate Worker, Under Keeper, Ground worker and Farm Labourer
  • What qualifications or experience do I need?
    4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above including English, or Level 1 Land-Based (or similar) and Entry 3 Functional Skills. If you miss the English and/or Maths requirements of your course, don't worry - there are options to study these alongside your course.
