England Rugby have named the squads for their U18 development camps, with three Brooksby Leicester Tigers programme students making the cut!
Lewis Chessum, Tim Hoyt and Jake Sterland are among just 44 players who have been selected from across the country, making Brooksby one of the three most represented education providers across the squads.
The trio met the rest of the North squad in York last weekend to take part in the development camp. All three students are part of the Leicester Tigers ACE programme at Brooksby, with Tim and Jake studying Level 3 Sport and Lewis studying Level 3 Agriculture.
Tom Harrison, Leicester Tigers Academy Coach, said ‘The selection of these three players is credit to the hard work of all players and staff on programme. Myself and the staff wish them the very best as they hopefully follow in the footsteps of George Martin, Archie Vanes and Sam Edwards in representing England U18s and Brooksby Melton College.’
Our Brooksby Campus has been running courses in partnership with Leicester Tigers since 2016. This exciting partnership allows students to benefit from first-class coaching from Tigers whist gaining an exceptional education from Brooksby, with the opportunity to study a full-time course in Sport, Sport Science or Agriculture.
Facilities at our Brooksby Campus include a 3G all-weather pitch, a strength and conditioning gym, a sports science lab and a brand new full-sized grass rugby pitch. In addition, three full-sized grass pitches are currently in development. On-site accommodation is also available.
