This course will enable you to work with a wide range of animals and develop your practical skills. The college provides industry-relevant experience, onsite at our Brooksby Campus, working with small animals. Units of study in the programme will also provide you with underpinning knowledge of animal health, behaviour, food and care requirements.

  • What will I learn?

    You will study units including:

    • Health and Safety
    • Prepare for work experience
    • Maintain Animal Health and Well-being
    • Assist with moving, handling and maintaining animal accommodation
    • Animals in the wild and their main features
    • Assist with feeding and watering animals
    • Assist with exercising animals.

    This course involves both theory and practical, which will allow you to develop your skills in all areas of animal care. There will also be an emphasis developing key personal skills that will allow learners to progress on to futher study.
