This course will enable you to work with a range of animals and develop your practical skills. The college provides industry-relevant experience, onsite at our Brooksby Campus, working with small animals. Units of study in the programme will also provide you with underpinning knowledge of animal health, behaviour, food and care requirements.

Where could this course lead to?
Learners who complete Level 2 Animal Care with a grade of Merit or above, may progress onto Level 3 Animal Management course or an Apprenticeship. Industry opportunities in animal welfare assistant, veterinary nursing, dog training and grooming, kennel/cattery management, education, zoo keeping, animal rehabilitation, animal welfare, nutrition, conservation and more.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above including English; or Level 1 Animal Care with merit grade and suitable preference. If you miss the English and/or Maths requirements of your course, don't worry - there are options to study these alongside your course.
