The purpose of these qualifications is to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding to progress into a job role in the construction industry. Learners also have the option to go on to undertake a Level 3 qualification in their chosen trade.

  • What will I learn?

    You will study units including:

    • The Construction Industry
    • Construct Cavity Walls
    • Construct Solid Walls
    • Setting Out Masonry Structures
    • The Construction Industry
    • Plus, a minimum of 2 optional units


    You will continue to study maths and English and develop your skills as part of your study programme if you haven?t achieved a 4 or above

  • How will I be assessed?
    Assessment of this will be through the completion of two NOCN devised practical tasks and associated knowledge questions (written or verbal). This unit is internally assessed and internally and externally quality assured using the NOCN assessment booklets to evidence all learning outcomes.
  • Where could this course lead to?

    Achievement of one of these qualifications confirms the learner has gained the knowledge and skills required to:

    • Progress directly into employment in the form of an apprenticeship.
    • Progress into further learning at a higher level.

    4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above including English and Maths, or Level 1 Bricklaying (or similar)
