These qualifications are suitable for individuals of any wanting an introduction to the variety of construction trades, to gain skills in those areas and perhaps to decide which trade is the right one to pursue a career in.

What will I learn?
You will study units including:
- Basic Health and Safety
- Principles of building
- Introduction to Carpentry skills
- Introduction to Bricklaying skills
- Introduction to Plumbing skills
- Introduction to Painting and decorating skills
- Plus a range of other construction skills
You will continue to study English and/or Maths if you have not already achieved grades 4 or above at GCSE.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment take place at the end of each unit and are both practical with some theory questions.

Where could this course lead to?
Successful complettion of this course will allow learners to progress onto a Level 2 Construction trades course (e.g. Bricklaying or Carpentry), or move into an apprenticeship.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
Learners will require GCSE English and Maths at Grade 1 or above. There will be some kit costs for this course. More information will be provided at your Information, Advice and Guidance session, which will take place after you have applied for the course.
