This is a 2 year course, with the first year being a HNC (Level 4) and the second year being a HND (Level 5).

What will I learn?
Mandatory units include: Nutrition, Fundamentals of Sport & Exercise Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology, Professional Skills, Coaching Practice & Skill Development, Training, Fitness & Testing. In addition, students select 4 optional units from the following list: Physical Activity, Lifestyle & Health, Lifestyle Coaching, Biomechanics, Technology in Sport, injury Prevention, Community Coaching, Sports Massage. (Units delivered may change subject to demand and lecturer expertise)

How will I be assessed?
Assessment methods are varied dependent on the module but include written reports, practical delivery, professional discussions and presentations.

Where could this course lead to?
Upon successful completion of the one-year HNC programme students will be equipped with all the skills they need to gain employment in their chosen area or continue their studies onto the HND programme.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
48 UCAS points either from A Levels or a relevant Level 3 qualification. Applications from adult students are also accepted and will be considered on an individual basis, subject to previous experience within the sector.
