This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in construction, specifically in surveying and design, civil engineering, building services design, or hazardous materials surveying.

T Levels are new courses that follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels. They've been co-created by the industry you want to be a part of, so you can gain the knowledge and skills you need to leap ahead of the crowd and into your desired career.

  • What will I learn?
The core element of a T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning will boost your knowledge in a range of topics such as design principles, project management and health and safety. You'll also learn about the commercial side of construction, including stakeholder management, business structures and entrepreneurship. And as the construction industry is always evolving, you'll dive into the world of digital technology, innovation and sustainability, to understand how the industry will be shaped in the future. You'll then choose a specialism designed to support your interests, so you can get deeper into your chosen subject and build up the skills you need for your future job. You can choose from specialist modules in either surveying and design for construction and the built environment; civil engineering; building services design; or hazardous materials analysis and surveying. Then you'll be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement of around 45 days. Giving you an amazing opportunity to work with an employer while you study, such as a construction or building company, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.
