This course builds on the skills and techniques of Level 2 Hairdressing whilst introducing new skills in creative cutting, styling and colouring. Students will also have the opportunity to develop skills in colour correction and dressing long hair. These additional creative skills aid learners when participating in shows and competitions, and when developing their photographic work.

This course is available to students aged 19+

  • What will I learn?

    Modules include:

    • Monitor & Maintain Health and Safety in the Salon
    • Consultation Support for Colleagues on Hair Services
    • Cut Women?s Hair to Create a Variety of Looks
    • Style and Dress Hair using a Variety of Technique
    • Colour Hair to Create a Variety of Looks
    • Perm Hair to Create a Variety of Looks
    • Colour Correction Services.
  • Where could this course lead to?
    Successful completion of this course can lead on to further training, such as a Level 3 Hairdressing Apprenticeship or Level 2 Beauty Therapy, or in to employment. Typical roles in the industry include Senior Stylist, Colour Technician, Salon Manager or Owner, Fashion, Modelling or Media.
  • What qualifications or experience do I need?
    Level 2 Hairdressing and Level 1 Functional Skills. Maths and English at Level 3 or above. If you miss the English and/or Maths requirements, there are options to study these alongside your course.
  • How long is the course?
    1 Year (2 nights per week)
