Hairdressing can be an extremely rewarding career for those who wish to pursue it. This course will teach you a variety of transferrable skills which will allow you to progress into specific areas within the Hair and Beauty industry.
All learners will complete work experience in our on-site salons. This first-hand experience is a fundamental part of your progress, allowing you to complete your assessments and put your skills into practice in a real salon environment. This course will be assessed through both practical skills tests and written assignments. During the year you will also complete an additional Employability Skills qualification to equip you with the vital skills required for job searching and interviewing. A short course in Contact Dermatitis can also be achieved. Both of these qualifications are industry-recognised and prepare you for a commercial salon.
Enrichment is a fundamental part of student experience at SMB College Group. To develop a wide range of industry skills and knowledge, students have the opportunity to attend guest speaker sessions and participate a number of workshops in barbering and long hair.
