We're always looking at ways to improve what we do in order to give you the best possible experience - so it’s always great to get feedback!
Hearing from other students, in their own words, is always more useful than us just saying how great we are - so here are just a handful of past and present students’ testimonials.
The Uniformed Public Services course at the Brooksby Campus prepared me for getting into the Army by giving me the time and facilities to get up to the physical standard – for example I was able to practise the bleep test as much as I needed to. The expertise of my Lecturers also helped me to ensure that I was training correctly, both physically and mentally. I also learned valuable skills like map reading so that I had a good grasp of the basics before developing these skills once I joined the Army.
I took the Mental Health First Aid and Self-Harm & Suicide Prevention courses in 2023 for personal development. They were both really interesting, challenging and thought provoking. Being able to study along side others, in college, was excellent. The teaching and discussions with the lecturer and other students were invaluable.
I found studying on a distance learning course through SMB to be really rewarding.
I chose the booklet option so I could learn and complete questions in my own time around work!
My tutor Tracy was really helpful and responsive whenever I had questions and was periodically checking in with me to check my progress!
Completing this course has helped me add another tool to the toolbelt needed for my role in SMB! I would recommend them to anyone looking to upskill themselves in work, or just to pad out their CV!
I've been on social media since I was 14 years old, and I wanted a better idea on how to edit YouTube videos and stuff like that, so I came to SMB College Group and I've learned how to use camera equipment, how to edit better, and loads more!
Whilst studying at SMB College Group I learnt how to become more confident and put myself forward for tasks, which is something I value today as being able to trust my ability and push myself allows me to keep making steps closer towards my future aspirations.
