We recently caught up with our female Construction students over at our Brooksby Campus about their experience so far and their future career aspirations!
My experience has been very good - my employer is encouraging and my peers/supervisors are helfpul.
My goal is to become a supervisor and go into management. My apprenticeship has helped me work towards this.
Having been wanting to pursue a career in hairdressing but never got the chance to attend daytime courses, SMB College Group has allowed me to chase my dreams and officially become a self-employed hairdresser, allowing me to work and study around family life.
The college was a great start to my career. I am still in shock that I won the Stage Debut Award. It means the world to be to be able to carve a way for black boys and girls that look like me, to show them that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. This is not only for me it’s for you too. Little drops of water make a mighty ocean.
I would recommend the college and the course to future students, the course I did at SMB College Group gave me the initial insight into the industry, trades and skills required. This has benefited me in my later career especially when it comes to managing these trades.
