“I studied my Level 2 and Level 3 Sport qualifications at the Brooksby Campus because I have always loved sports and fitness and I hope to work within the Sports industry as a personal trainer or PE teacher in the future. I have always preferred practical learning so the BTEC courses offered at Brooksby suited me really well.
“I came to the Melton Campus to study Hair and Media Make-Up because I had been passionate about make-up for a while and I wanted to learn more skills and further my knowledge in this area. I chose to come to Melton for this course because I attended an open day and everyone was really welcoming.
“I chose to study Catering at the Melton Campus because cooking is something that I have always really enjoyed. My favourite thing about studying Catering at the college was the opportunity to test my skills by entering competitions all over the country, including the Teflon Diamond Standard competition, which I won.

“After completing my Level 2 Horticulture apprenticeship, my employer at Coventry University paid for me to undertake an RHS Level 3 qualification, as I had worked hard and shown great performance in the work environment. It was because of this that my line manager believed me to be a worthy nominee for the Coventry and Warwickshire Apprentice of the Year award.
“I first came to the Brooksby Campus in June 2018 when I decided to look at a career change and booked onto the Dog Grooming taster day. I was extremely nervous about going back to college after 30 years but I was immediately put at ease by Donna and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
